Aloha!

We’re halfway through our vacation on Kauai right now and my head is spinning from the beauty of this place. I don’t know how I’ll ever put it into words, so for now I’ll just share a couple photos to whet your appetite for what’s to come — IF I can force myself to get on the plane to go home, that is. The pull of the islands is strong, my friends, very strong….

Japanese White-eye, also known as Mejiro. Isn't he beautiful?

  1. It is so beautiful. But just think – if you lived there permanently your birding would be very limited. Hopefully that thought will help you get on the plane to come home. 🙂

I can almost feel your disappointment about getting back on a plane. I cry every time we have to leave the Caribbean islands. I love these photos! That White-eye is gorgeous!

Lori, we only have one more full day left, boo hoo. We’re going birding up in the mountains again in the morning, hoping to find a few more forest birds. I can’t wait to write about this trip when I get home.
