Inspired by Nature

Feeling small in Zion Canyon

Eric and I spent this week visiting some of the beautiful national parks in the American West — Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, and Zion — and my mind is swirling with lots of thoughts about “the wild” and how we experience it. I’m sitting in the Las Vegas airport waiting for the flight home in a couple hours so can’t really gather my thoughts enough to write about it yet, but wanted to put up a photo to give you a taste of what’s to come in my next couple of posts. Suffice it to say that the landscape out here is inspiring, amazing, beautiful, grandiose, spectacular….and I’ll probably need to dig out my thesaurus for more!

We hiked and birded until we dropped from exhaustion each day. I’ve got hundreds of photos and 15 new birds on my life list, including a bird I thought I’d never see in my whole life (and I bet you haven’t seen one either). Stay tuned…..

  1. I will anxiously be waiting for your pictures! I visited those three parks many years ago and would love to go back. Aren’t they spectacular?

Yes, Kristie, they are fabulous! I’m going to try to write about which ones I liked best and why. First post is coming in less than 24 hours….
