Oooh, just looky what I found in my garden today:
The very first little bit of green to show up this year, it’s one of my sedum plants. (The next picture is what it will look like when it’s grown.)
Still no signs of daffodils trying to poke up, but I usually have to dig around the mulch and dead leaves to find them this early. (Note to self: do that.)
I also spent some time out in the woods today putting up our three new nesting boxes. Now we’re all ready for any tenants that want to move in.
There were a couple of nuthatches carrying on in the trees while I was out there, and as I looked up, one of them dive-bombed my head. He missed by a couple feet, thankfully. But I was hoping he was already showing some interest in claiming one of the boxes. That would be awesome.
I had another audience today too:
And, last but not least, my favorite visitor from today, our Pileated Woodpecker. I tried to sneak up on him to get a better picture, but he took off. Very dramatic, don’t you think?
