Just a quick note to let everyone know that it’s time for the annual Great Backyard Bird Count (Friday through Monday, Feb 18-21, 2011). Why not spend some time this weekend counting birds in your yard? It can take as little as 15 minutes if that’s all you want to spend, and it’s tons of fun to know that your counts will go into a gigantic database to help scientists track bird populations and movements around North America. Here are the details, including how to enter their photo contest. I’m hoping to capture a picture of the little Brown Creeper that’s been frequenting the tree outside my office window lately!
